Why Fabrice Muamba makes people think

I wish footballer Fabrice Muamba a healthy recovery from his collapse. What has struck me most about the public reaction is how the idea of death and nearly dying touched so many people in the UK. There have been tributes and the newspapers have covered it endlessly. It is similar to the feeling after Princess Diana passed away.

The Western mindset is about living for the now, not about contemplating death so this is a strange state of affairs. Perhaps it will help some people see the truth that this world is temporary, the hereafter is forever and that they should begin to prepare for the journey of their souls after death.
