The story of Zainab

This is a video presentation of a poem by Ahmed al-Kandari, a poet from Kuwait. He tells the story of our sister, Zainab. She was arrested by the filthy Syrian regime of the animal, Bashar al-Assad. She was brutally beaten, humiliated, tortured, mutilated and then decapitated for no reason other than the fact that she, like so many others, simply wanted her rights.

Let me ask if it is possible to watch this video without tears, bitter rage and motivation to work for real change streaming from you in equal measure. If you watch it without such reaction then why not ask your Lord to give you a new heart? Your current one is dead.

N.B. Credit goes to Nahda Productions for the translation of the poem from Arabic into English as well as the subtitling and video compilation

About:

A blog for my thinking and perspective on events from an Islamic Angle. It's all quick thoughts, original content, sharp reminders or links to really interesting stuff.

It's how I view the world from East London. Sometimes I post on a topical issue that can be seen from many angles when only one will really do. Comments welcome!
