The people of Egypt are marking the first anniversary of the uprising against the regime of Mubarak. The world’s media are trying to portray the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) as ‘Islamist’, as if they really want to implement Islam. They don’t.
Katatni, who has just been elected as speaker of the assembly says they don’t even want one faction to lead, in an assembly of liberals, Western agents and freedom-lovers. This won’t lead to Islam.
If a party wins the most the most seats, gets its own guy elected as speaker and can rely on support from the second largest bloc and still acts like a bunch of cowards then what hope is there for the Muslims who still hope for Islam through democracy? None.

About:

A blog for my thinking and perspective on events from an Islamic Angle. It's all quick thoughts, original content, sharp reminders or links to really interesting stuff.

It's how I view the world from East London. Sometimes I post on a topical issue that can be seen from many angles when only one will really do. Comments welcome!
